Renting a car is a great way to discover Dominica at your own pace. Roads can be a bit rough in some places, so we highly recommend you choose a 4X4 if you are planning on doing some exploring. Remember to drive on the left side on the road! 

Driving Tips:

· You will need a temporary drivers license to rent a car in Dominica. This license can be purchased from the rental company at the time you pick up you car and cost US$ 12 for 1 month.

· Gas stations are open daily from 7am-7pm. We recommend you fill up you tank before a long drive, you might not always find gas when you are in the countryside.

· Many roads are mountainous, and Dominicans sound their horns when entering a tight turn or as they are passing you. Don’t be shy, honk yours too!

· and due to the heavy rain, pot-holes can form over night, drive carefully.

· Dominica drives on the left; However, your car could be a right-hand drive or a left-hand drive.
