BAREFOOT TRAVEL Terms and Conditions

 

Booking & Reservations Procedures: BAREFOOT TRAVEL requires a credit card number and billing address to request a reservation. A minimum of 50% deposit will be charged upon confirmation. For last minute bookings (less than 60 days prior to departure, full payment is required. If the requested hotel cannot be confirmed, a comparable alternate will be booked and there will be a 3 days grace period (from the time you are notified) to cancel without penalty. Any difference in nightly rate between the requested hotel and the accepted alternate hotel will be reflected in the final package price. If the alternate is not cancelled, deposit will be posted and penalties will apply – see cancel fees. Final payment can be made online, or by signed BAREFOOT TRAVEL credit card form, and is due 60 days prior to departure. For bookings made 60 days or less prior to departure and air inclusive packages, we must have full online payment (or signed credit card form or bank draft) in our office by 2pm within 1 days of the booking date or the booking will auto cancel. Other packages may also require full payment within 1 day. 

 

Fees: The Standard Handling fee is $12 and applies to bookings departing from the US 8 days or more from the day the booking is paid in full. The Expedited Handling fee is $32 and applies to bookings departing from the U.S. within 7 days from the day the booking is paid in full. These fees are non-refundable.

 

Cancellations & Changes: There is a $50 per person fee for any changes, including name substitutions, made once initial payment has been received by the Operator. Within 60 days of departure, a change in departure date, hotel or number of passengers will be treated as a cancellation, and cancellation charges will apply. Name changes are subject to hotel and airline acceptance and penalties. Once scheduled air tickets are issued, no changes are allowed.

 

· Cancel 60 days or more prior to departure-pay  penalty equal to 25% of package price.

· Cancel 31-59 days prior to departure pay penalty equal to 50% of package price.

· Cancel 30 days or less prior to departure-pay penalty equal to 100% of package price.

 

If final payment is not received 60 days prior to departure, the Operator has the right to cancel your reservation and retain applicable penalties. The following are purchased by BAREFOOT TRAVEL upon receipt of full payment and are non-refundable: airline tickets, confirmed sightseeing and activities, Ferry tickets, and the following: Cabrits Dive Centre, Castle Comfort Dive Lodge.

 

Open Vouchers: Open vouchers include open sightseeing. There will be a $10 per voucher charge on all returned unused open vouchers. Documents must be received within 30 days from travel to qualify for a refund. All confirmed voucher are non-refundable.

 

Refunds: Notice for refund requests must be forwarded to BAREFOOT Travel by registered mail no later than 30 days from completion of the trip. All unused documents should be returned with the request. After this time no refunds, however valid, will be considered. Reservations cancelled directly with a hotel or another supplier do not qualify for a refund. Please note that there are no refunds for packages designated as non-refundable.

 

Groups: If you are traveling as part of a group of 10 or more adults, different deposit, payment and cancellation policies may apply. Please contract us for details.

 

Travel Insurance: For packages and vacations including paying accommodation, a travel insurance (trip cancellation, medical assistance…) will be sent to you via email. If you do not wish to subscribe to our travel insurance, please fill out and sign our insurance waiver and fax it or email it back to us within 7 days of booking.

 

Because many credit card companies provide automatic flight insurance, we do not include the value of airline tickets in the travel insurance policy we offer. If you would like us to insure the total amount of you trip, including flights, please notify us within 7 days of booking so we can make the necessary arrangement. Typically, an additional charge will apply.

 

Hotels: Space is subject to availability. Rooms are assigned on a run-of-the-house basis by hotel management upon check in. Single rooms are usually smaller in size than twins or doubles and have one small bed. Triples are usually a standard twin/double plus a rollaway or sofa bed. While a hotel normally may offer a particular feature such as air conditioning, BAREFOOT Travel cannot guarantee that the service will be in operation at any given time and cannot be held responsible for any such lack of operation at the time of stay.

 

Hotel Classifications: Hotel classifications are based on BAREFOOT Travel’s assessment and may not reflect opinions of other sources.

 

Not Included: Any items of a personal nature including but not limited to: phone calls, tips, laundry, beverages, meals not stated, taxi and bus fares, passport and visa fees.

 

Prices: BAREFOOT Travel reserves the right to adjust prices as a result of increases in government-imposed taxes, airline imposed fees, exchange rate fluctuations, any increase in vendor rates, and data entry or website errors. Once full payment is received, BAREFOOT Travel will only pass on increases in government imposed taxes and airline imposed surcharges. Air prices and air inclusive package prices are subject to change until booking is paid in full.

 

VAT: A Value Added Tax (VAT) will come into effect on March 1st, 2006 in Dominica. It will replace the sales tax and Hotel occupancy tax and will be charged at 10% on accommodation and 15% on other products. For bookings paid before March 1st, 2006 with travel taking place after March 1st, the invoice will be adjusted to reflect the VAT. In this case, the VAT is payable directly to the hotel at check out. We apologize for the inconvenience and we do everything possible to make this tax transition as smooth as possible.

 

Passports/Visas: It is the sole responsibility of each passenger to obtain the necessary documents, such as passports and visas, for travel to the Commonwealth of Dominica. Visa requirements do change without notice and vary by nationality.

 

Responsibility: BAREFOOT Travel and/or its agents act only as booking agents for hotels, sightseeing vendors, car rentals and/or any other service in connection with the itineraries of individual or group travelers. Every reservation is accepted subject to the terms and conditions of the suppliers. BAREFOOT Travel shall not be liable for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay, irregularity, liability or expense to person or property due to an act or default by any company or person providing or rendering services included in the tour. BAREFOOT Travel and/or its agents accept no responsibility for any sickness, pilferage, labor dispute, machinery breakdown, government restraint, act of god, war, terrorism, weather condition, defect in vehicle or transportation or for any misadventure or casualty or any other circumstances beyond their control. The responsibility of any airline used is solely that set out in the passenger contract evidenced by the ticket. Airlines and other carriers are not responsible for any act, omission or event during the time passengers are not aboard their planes or conveyances. BAREFOOT Travel cannot be held responsible for variations in length or content of sightseeing. The booking confirmation and these Terms and Conditions represent the entire agreement between BAREFOOT Travel and all passengers. You confirm that you have not entered into this contract with BAREFOOT Travel on the basis of any representation not expressly incorporated into these documents. The sole and exclusive forum for any legal claims you may make against BAREFOOT Travel shall be the Commonwealth of Dominica Court.
